Atrius Ambidextrous Forced Reset Selector, Super Safety
Atrius Ambidextrous Forced Reset Selector (FRS)
The complete, end-to-end, no-gimmick safety that’s guaranteed to put a smile on your face. The Atrius Ambidextrous Forced Reset Selector gives you three positive positions — SAFE, SEMI (Traditional), and SUPER-SEMI — in a rock-solid, drop-in package. Designed for mil-spec AR-15 fire control groups, no permanent modifications required. This isn’t just a safety; it’s an advantage.
Key Features
Ambidextrous 3-position design — SAFE / SEMI / SUPER-SEMI for full control and versatility.
Ultra-smooth engagement — Crisp, tactile 90° clicks with no mushy feel.
Positive, non-slipping positioning — Engineered for rock-solid engagement; won’t walk under recoil.
4140 heat-treated steel with corrosion-resistant finish — Built for hardcore durability.
Mechanically leveraged design — Reduces wear on internal components compared to some FRTs.
Aggressive ergonomics — Textured, chamfered levers for immediate, confident manipulation under stress.
Drop-in installation — Replaces factory safety in minutes on compatible lowers (some fitment may be required).
Made in the USA — Proudly manufactured domestically.
Compatibility & Fitment
Designed for mil-spec AR-15 fire control groups (.223/5.56/.300 BLK).
NOT compatible without gunsmithing on AR-10 (LR-308/SR-25) platforms. A future model for AR-10 platforms is planned.
Some AR9 and non-standard platforms may require professional gunsmithing to ensure correct lever sweep and function.
Works best with lowers that have an FA pocket or low shelf and mil-spec triggers without a relief cut (trigger rear must be squared—no U-notch).
Requires an FA style bolt carrier group.
Buffer requirements:
Minimum H2 buffer (H3 recommended) for firearms with carbine extensions and 16” or shorter barrels
Standard rifle buffer for 20” A2 stocks
Purchase an H2 Buffer or an H3 Buffer
Installation & Hardware
Selector screw: T10, 4-40 thread.
Recommended spring: McMaster-Carr 9657K619.
Torque spec: 15 in-lbs. Use blue Loctite only.
Always check function and safety with dummy rounds before live-fire. If unsure, have installation performed/verified by a qualified gunsmith.
Operational Notes
The Super-Safety system uses a dovetail cam with about 15° tolerance, which may allow limited over-travel before the cam disengages from the trigger bar — design behavior, not a defect.
This FRS is designed to preserve internal component life vs. some forced-reset triggers which can accelerate wear.
Warnings & Important Safety Info
All modifications should be performed by a qualified gunsmith. Improper installation or unauthorized modification may result in malfunction, accidental discharge, serious injury, or death. Use and modify at your own risk.
